The Ooooh Aaaah Bomb

from http://www.bbc.co.uk/

US State papers dating from 1994 released under the Freedom of Information Act reveal that, during the Gulf War, the Pentagon toyed with the idea of developing an aphrodisiac bomb that would cause enemy troops to find each other sexually irresistible. An alternative was to make enemy troops sexually attractive to stinging and biting insects and rodents. They also spent 50 years looking into a Who?Me? stink bomb that would produce smells leading enemy troops to think one of them had farted or suddenly developed bad breath.

Tree Removal in Scotter Upsets Residents and Rooks.

From http://www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk/

Last weeks removal of a number of long established trees on wasteland at the rear of the Gamekeeper pub in Scotter has caused the concern of many local residents.

They are not alone, as the trees, which have been a home for rooks for decades have disappeared, coincides with the return of the rooks for nesting. The rooks find themselves homeless as the birds tend to nest again and again in the same trees, and utilise last year's nests.

Whilst no offence has been committed unless the birds were either in the process of building or eggs were laid, it is still a sad site for anyone who cares about the loss of the habitat of local wildlife and what has become a part of Scotter history and charm albeit that the trees were on privately owned land.

Poetic Thoughts

Hiding beneath the shadows
Where only darkness falls,
Shouting out the names of saints,
At least those I can recall.

Cursing at the demons, angels and the like.
Wishing plagues and tortures,
On all that loved or loathed me;
That placed me here today.

Till all that's left,
To hate the most.
The one I truly despise,
Lies where only darkness falls
In the shadows where I hide.

Once In a Red Moon

Once In A Red Moon
Absolutely Heaven. Has there been a more uplifting song than 'You Raise Me Up'?
I must explore more of Secret Garden

Uri Geller's Meditations

Sorry Uri, Meditations
does you no favours. Corny at best, down right irritating at worst. I can still see you now, walking around Elm Park, microphone in hand, using positive thought to will Reading to promotion...the season they were relegated.
